Growing up as an only child...

Wednesday, 8 June 2016

Being an only child isn't as fabulous as everybody thinks it's cracked up to be!

1. Being impatient

I mean everyone can be impatient but being an only child being impatient is taken to a WHOLE new level. I mean in my world as an only child the limelight is kind of always on you and everything kind of revolves around you whether you like it or not.

2. Everybody just knows your that 'only child'

I don't know how but everybody knows when you're an only child, it's not as if I go out of my way to tell people I'm an only child. Phrases I hear are 'You're such an only child' or 'You're spoilt' - I remember the days back in school I was called spoilt when I actually really wasn't.

3. You can be pretty socially awkward

When I was younger playing with Bratz or Polly Pockets was something I had to do alone, I never had someone to play with these toys with me. I still find meeting new people really hard and I'm either really shy, awkward or loud in these situations when it comes down to it. (no matter how sarcastic and rude my friends actually think I am, I do get very shy).

Overcoming being negative CM

Positive thinking will let you do everything better than negative thinking will

Negative thinking for me has always been my port of call, anything that happens in my life is always haunted by the negatives, those 'what if' scenarios - I always think of the bad parts never those that are good for my friends they have to deal with my negativity on a daily basis as I'm always thinking about what could of happened and what happened. In these cases what happened is usually good but I always try to replace this with negativity.

Long time no post! I've recently been finishing off my course in college and juggling two jobs, not too strenuous at the moment but I'll be working 6 days a week in the Summer and it's been taking a lot of getting used to! *Thinking of the money, thinking of the money*..

HALLELUJAH!

1ST YEAR DONE AND DUSTED.
As you already probably know I've been studying HND Media Moving Image for the past 9 months and the first year has finally come to an end, I've got all my work to hand in this week and I'm out of there until September when i start my second year (which is more difficult - fabulous) it's been a tedious few months but I've finished everything a week earlier than hand in so that's always great. I finished my semester 1 with good marks so hopefully I finish semester 2 with good marks - hoping for a merit or distinction - that will make me happy!

My favourite part of the project has got be being able to film a reconstruction of BBC Three's Thirteen which was very fun to recreate and also BBC Three tweeted there response to my reconstruction which I'm very happy about, meaning they hopefully watched it.
 (here is my reconstruction below)

I've finally decided that I want to go away for my third year and leave Cornwall which for me is an exciting idea! As Chloe W has now decided to go away that is also exciting so I can visit her in her first year this coming September too.

I'm 18! What did I get for my birthday? - Chloe W♡

Monday, 25 April 2016

As you may know if you follow our twitter, it was my birthday on the 13th and for the last two weeks I seem to have just been so busy! Unfortunately that business wasn't even spent working towards my college coursework, instead I've been spending time with family, going out with friends, sorting out my university accommodation and all that malarkey!

Maybelline Super Stay 24 Foundation & Concealer - First impressions/Review! - Chloe W♡

Wednesday, 6 April 2016

Two posts in the same afternoon? Crazy! But I thought I'd do a quick first impressions/review on the Maybelline Super Stay 24 hour Foundation and Concealer, I brought these a few days ago and saw it had a new formula and as I needed a new foundation, I grabbed it with somewhat high expectations as I use this brand a lot!

Evening beach walks! Chloe W♡

Hiya, long time no post! Not sure why even, I've started my FMP for Photography in college and it seems it's been a hectic few weeks of trying to create concepts, plan shoots, have shoots cancelled because of weather and all that amongst working this Easter I haven't had anything to blog about! But I think finding time to do something I love just to relax is important, so here I am with a little blog post on last nights trip to Pendower beach in Cornwall.

Start living for you! - CM

Monday, 21 March 2016

So as you already know, me and Chloe haven't really been blogging recently! For me, I wanted a break from blogging and I really didn't have any ideas of what I wanted to talk about, which right now I still don't know what I am going to be writing about but we will see what happens anyway.

Last month I spent a lot of time working and reuniting with old friends who I haven't seen in ages, people I hadn't had the chance to see for more than a year or so, I've just spending time with friends and just having more time for myself.

An iccle haul. Chloe W ♡

Saturday, 20 February 2016

Hi y'aaall! Keeping this post short and sweet today because I posted a long rambly one not long ago! If you haven't read it already, shoo and go give it some love.. ^.^ Just kidding, although some advice and comments on it would help me out!

I guiltily had a mini spree today, and even more shamefully some of it was my part giving in to grabbing bags of sweeties.

Half Term + Contemplating third year options for uni - Chloe M✨

Friday, 19 February 2016

So as some of you already know, I decided to stay in Cornwall for my next two years of university although I'm nearly drawing a close to my first year as it finishes in May (craaazy right?) although I have the summer to look forward to right? Which yes is very correct but I'll be working loads with all the great people that work there.

Although next year for university I have to decide whether I want to go away and do the top up to my degree or whether I want to stay at my current university where I live at home and commute or stop my HND part of my degree and join the RAF/Police Force as I've always been torn between Media and RAF/Police Force/Met I know they are such vast differences but it's really hard to decide what I would loooove to do! I might try TV or Radio in media and then further on in my life join the police force! - I'm torn between them!! :(

SMALL UPDATE BEFORE THE MAIN POST

Today has been really crazy with the weather, I woke up this morning to glorious sunshine through my blinds, almost felt like Summer was approaching- and then when I decided to make the most of it and go out and take some photo's on the beach, it literally started chucking it down and hailing! Nevertheless I got some photographs, and now as I am lounging around in a very cosy fluffy blanket, I am being blinded again by some indecisive sunrays. But I guess that's the UK (in particularly Cornwall) for you.

Situations (that I encounter often)... Chloe M

Monday, 15 February 2016

As I haven't posted in a while I thought I would share a few awkward situations that I encounter in my daily life of being a gobby 19 year old...

1. Tripping over or skidding on flooring because your shoes aren't proper

this happens to me all the time at work, i skid round corners and nearly drop trays full of crockery and glass or a bowl falls off the tray and gets thrown halfway across the restaurant

2. Bumping into people you really wish you hadn't and sharing an awkward face off with them

then walking halfway down the road and realising how much of a douche bag you really looked like

3. Talking to my friends about YouTubers and then remembering they have know idea what your chatting

this happens to me all the time, except when I'm talking to Chloe W...

4. Typing out text messages and sending them to the wrong person or hoping not to send that screenshot of the conversation to the person you screenshotted...

yes I have sent a text to the wrong person before

5. Taking group pictures and looking like the mug of the group

yes I really did just upload the picture I hate, and yes that is me on the left on the bottom photo

6. Looking on someones Instagram and liking a photo from 67 weeks ago...

yeah I can imagine you'd probably look like a stalker

Wedding time! Chloe W ♡

As you may or not know from our twitter or my personal twitter, this past weekend was my Boyfriend's Mum's wedding! I was lucky enough to photograph for them, which was equally a nerve wracking but lovely experience, especially as I knew them and the family already and had a lot of support and encouragement! I was much more confident after I brought my new camera as it is a pretty lush piece of equipment and I knew it would help me out a tonne!

The Wedding was set at unusually a place called Bodmin Jail - I know it sounds pretty 'grim', but don't be fooled, despite used to being a jail - the venue was absolutely stunning! I was a little obsessed with the table décor. No shame.

My weekend - update! Getting a new camera and more...Chloe W ♡

Monday, 1 February 2016

Helloooo, hope you're all doing well! Didn't want to post until I had brought my new camera this weekend - The Canon 5D Mark III! If you're following me on Twitter you'll know this is a camera I have been longing for a very very long time, and that I was lucky enough to buy it this weekend as an 18th Birthday present (My birthday's actually in April), from money that my grandparents have been putting away for me since I was a bubba. As Photography is something I'm aspiring to use as a career, this is the only thing I wanted to use the money on, and I feel so so blessed for it! I was lucky enough to get it early also as I am shooting for a wedding soon and I am going into my last project at college. Not going to University also means that I'll be able to step out 'into the world' and shoot for clients with this little beauty.

Why I'm NOT Going To University... Chloe W ♡

Tuesday, 12 January 2016

Ever since I was I introduced to the idea of 'University' I've always been adamant that I don't want to go. It was something that I felt that was an unnecessary elongation of education, why would I want to add another 3 years of extra education on top of a load of years I've already done? Boring!

Goals + Ideas for 2016... Chloe M ✨

Monday, 11 January 2016

I never thought I'd say it but I've bought a journal and I am now writing little entries everyday such as to do lists, inspiration for my uni course, goals for 2016, changes for 2016 and blog post ideas!!

Since 2016 has started I've taken a lot of time with this blog as has Chloe W, most of the time we come up with ideas on our own and let one another know what we are going to change - me being the one who set up the blog so it works and for Chloe W picking colours and adding her little creative touches along the way!

Near the beginning of 2015 I started my own blog on my own 'bloggingwithchloe' which has since been taken down as I wanted to start a joint blog (and who better to start one with than Chloe W) after many months of deciding whether we would actually stick it out here we are and here I am writing yet another blog post - when I should be doing my YouTube presentation for university.
Me and Chloe W being both creative types and YouTube obsessed we have many conversations about our blog and YouTubers as that's one the main things we have in common - I'm so happy to say that me and Chloe W became friends at the beginning of 2015 and have since been very close friends ever since.

University or not to University... Chloe M ✨

University - one of the biggest leaps of your life

University is one of the biggest leaps of your life especially for the ones of us who move away from home and start a fresh with new people and in a new city or town... most of my friends have gone to university and are living away from home while I'm studying at university, but chose to stay close to home (which is probably the best choice I did make, I'm such a wimp for not leaving!)

16 Things To Change in 2016...Chloe W ♡

Amongst the sea of 2016 posts (i'm sure there are many), it's hard to think of something interesting to post about it being a New Year. I suppose I don't have to post about it, or talk about how I am going to miraculously become a new person, but I honestly feel so determined for this year to be one of the good uns'.

Photography & College update.. Something different! Chloe W ♡

Monday, 4 January 2016

As you might already know if you've read our about pages, I study a photography and snapping away with a camera is one of my favourite past times! Currently I am doing an interesting project about narratives and creating 'stories' with pictures, it may not appeal to many readers but I really wanted to share some of the pictures I have taken with you!

They are all of the same model, my younger brother- I wanted my images to be about youth and the many emotions you encounter as you grow up. I had a bit too much fun playing with water colours on top of the images which looks a bit funky but naturally I liked the final outcome!

New year, new haul? ... Chloe W ♡

Sunday, 3 January 2016

New year, new me? Not quite, but I did treat myself to some little things in the sales! The duration from Christmas to New year is literally the perfect time of year to go on guilt free spending sprees, I found I could've brought tonnes more than I did but I resisted!

2015 - New Year's Eve + Christmas Shenanigans... Chloe M ✨

Saturday, 2 January 2016

SOO, I hope everyone has had a good new year and enjoyed the last evening of 2015 it's crazy to think that we are already into the second day (by the time this has posted third day) of 2016!!

It's mad to think that it's already 2016 the last year went so fast and I expect this one to go as fast! - The Christmas holidays have been absolutely super, I got to see all my friends who have come home from university to spend Christmas with there families and to see friends not to mention that we've nearly all gone out drinking everyday before and after Christmas (which for me is weird, as I used to hate nights out) but it's be great spending time with them and getting to see them before we all go our separate ways again and they go back to university until their reading weeks which is sad D:
